The Department of History at Bilkent University invites applications for a tenure-track position of open rank in Modern European History. The candidate should be able to offer graduate courses on their specialised aspects of the history of Europe after AD 1700, as well as undergraduate lectures on Modern European History and upper-level undergraduate courses.
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate excellence in research, publications, and teaching. The Department of History particularly welcomes applications from scholars who will enhance the department’s existing thematic and interdisciplinary strengths.
Qualifications: A doctorate degree in History is required.

Online interviews of selected applicants will be held between 24-28 November 2025, and reference letters for these candidates will be requested at that time. Short-listed candidates will be invited for a campus visit in early-mid December 2025.
